What up fur fam! Some of you may know me already but for those uninitiated, I'm the studio manager and treat tester at Leigh Horwood Pet Photographer! I've been asked by Leigh to contribute something and I thought I'd start my own column reviewing movies! This month I'm looking at an Australian classic and one of Leigh's favourite flicks - Red Dog! As a fellow four-legged friend, I was thoroughly impressed by this heartwarming film. The movie follows the story of a Kelpie cross named Red Dog, who travels across the Australian Outback searching for his rightful owner. Along the way, Red Dog touches the lives of those he meets and becomes a legend in his own time. One of the things I loved about the film is how well it depicts the strong bond between dogs and humans. The characters in the movie truly understand the loyalty and love that dogs are capable of, and it is evident in the way they interact with Red Dog. The acting in the film was top-notch, especially by Koko, the real life dog who played Red Dog. The cinematography was also superb, capturing the beauty of the Outback and the many adventures Red Dog embarks on. One of the most touching moments of the film for me was when Red Dog finds his rightful owner, John Grant. The reunion between the two was emotional and showed the true power of a dog's love. And yes, I did shed a tear or two... Overall, I would give "Red Dog" a solid four paws up! If you are a dog lover like myself, I highly recommend watching this film.
